Use a Cornell notes page
Use the left column to test what you learned, rather than copy the notes twice.
Write first, make cues afterwards
During a lesson or reading, put the main notes on the right. Leave space between topics. Afterwards, use the left column for questions that point to those notes. The bottom section holds your short explanation of the main point.
Example: a question you can test
Cover the right column and answer the cue aloud or on scrap paper. Check the answer against the notes and mark the part you missed.
| Area | What to write |
|---|---|
| Notes | At 1:50 scale, 1 cm on the page represents 50 cm on the object. |
| Cue | How long should a 4 m wall be on the page at 1:50? |
| Summary | Convert to the same unit, then divide by 50: 400 cm ÷ 50 = 8 cm. |
Leave room for diagrams
For equations or diagrams, leave several ruled lines unused instead of squeezing the work between them. Make the cue column wider for longer questions, or reserve more summary space when several topics belong together.
